Babies smashed in rubble, blown apart by smart bombs, children maimed for life, limbs missing, or left orphaned to fend for themselves, most of whom starve or are abused. Is this to be the legacy we leave? Why do we do it - politics. Are our children the price we must pay for politics? Who will speak for them? They cannot speak for themselves. Do we think they are not important, that they can be thrown away? They are the future, when will we stop destroying our future? What has happened to our humanity? Do we only think about ourselves? Who will think about the children? Who will care about the children? Must the children of the world suffer while countries battle for strategic positioning and strength? Jan Haile Clark
